Harry S. Dent, Jr.'s mission is simple: helping people understand change. He graduated from the Harvard Business School as a Baker Scholar. Not content to be an armchair theoretician, Mr. Dent has put his ideas to the test with a variety of companies ranging in size, market and business focus. He has acted as a strategic consultant for Fortune 100 corporations and also has managed several small growth businesses.
Mr. Dent has published five books, of which the two most recent have been bestsellers. These include Our Power to Predict (1989), The Great Boom Ahead (1993), The Great Jobs Ahead (1995), The Roaring 2000s (1998)¾ which appeared on the New York Times bestseller list¾ and The Roaring 2000s Investor (1999). Mr. Dent is a charismatic and persuasive public speaker who has addressed top corporations, major investment firms, and business conferences around the world. He also advises the AIM/Dent Demographic Trends Fund and the Van Kampen Roaring 2000s Unit Investment Trust, and manages the Dent Strategic Sector Fund.
Mr. Dent brings a very lively and common sense approach to helping financial advisors and everyday investors understand the fundamental trends driving this incredible boom. He ties the baby boom generation's massive spending, saving and debt trends along with the fast-paced information revolution, the pervasive workplace changes, and the coming population shift outside of suburbs into one simple, cohesive picture that leaves the audience feeling very clear and confident about the future. He is especially good at handling questions and customizing presentations to different audiences. For financial advisors, he paints a very clear picture of how the role of the financial advisor will evolve. For investors he summarizes the time-tested principles for systematically investing in long term bull markets.

The Dent Method That’s the philosophy behind the financial forecasting model pioneered by Harry S. Dent in the late 1980s. Known today as “The Dent Method,” this model – now used throughout the world by many financial professionals and private investors – shows that for more than four centuries economic trends have correlated with generation cycles.
Based on a holistic look at the population, The Dent Method forecasting approach identifies simple, fundamental demographic shifts, and then ties them to key economic factors. By looking at generation cycles, family formation and predictable spending patterns, the Dent Method can forecast what people will buy and when, from real estate sales to grocery purchases. The Dent Method also measures the impact of demographic shifts on a wide variety of economic indicators, including inflation, debt, savings, investment, productivity and consumer spending.
The Dent Method is a common sense approach. Economics is tied to demographics. And commerce is a logical result of people making predictable spending decisions as they move through life.
The New Economic Boom "We are about to enter the greatest economic boom in history."
Will you watch it from the sidelines, or will you seize this wealth creation opportunity of a lifetime and create the life you want?
Make no mistake... contrary to many so-called experts, we are about to enter the finale of the greatest economic boom in North American history. This final stage of the boom is already underway and should continue until 2009 or 2010.
We base our forecasting on the study of whole populations, or demographics. Our demographic models have consistently proven their ability to give us the power to predict an incredible array of information. For example we can predict trends in inflation, innovation, consumer debt, spending, saving, investment and more - decades in advance.
